| West Calgary Ring Road Construction Notice – September 2019 Bow River Pathway Construction |
| This fall there will be ongoing work at the far west end of Bowness Park underneath the Stoney Trail NW bridge. A second bridge over the Bow River is being constructed for the West Calgary Ring Road. Starting in early September, construction on a new pathway alignment and staircase will begin. The new pathway alignment (1 – shown on the plan below) replaces a section of pathway (2) in an area needed for the construction, and the new staircase (3) will provide an alternate connection for a temporary pathway closure (4). The pathway will be closed temporarily in late October or early November for approximately three weeks to perform preparatory site works in this area. Pathway users can expect timber clearing, mulching, excavation and grading for the new pathway alignment. The new stairs require a retaining wall, and both will be made of timber.
