Tuscany Updates – Planning | Development | Transit | Transportation
As Calgary and Tuscany continue to evolve, the role of the TCA aims to provide information to the community on major planning matters or construction updates as well as changes in the community. The TCA provides comments to the City of Calgary when engagement is available and shares information with the community regarding planning and development as well as transit or transportation matters when major changes are announced.
The TCA does not have any authority in any planning matters or decisions made by the City of Calgary or the school boards that manage our local schools. The information posted below is updated when information is available, however, the City of Calgary website or your local school board may have more current information.

Items Impacting Tuscany:
Mobility Study – Nose Hill Drive to 87 St NW and Bearspaw Dam Road NW
In 2024, the TCA submitted a letter to the City of Calgary and the Ward 1 office in coordination with the Scenic Acres Community Association, Silver Springs Community Association and the Bowness Community Association regarding the traffic issues on the route to school for Bowness High School Students specifically around the Nose Hill Drive to 87 St NW and Bearspaw Dam Road NW.
Status: The left turn signal for westbound traffic on Nose Hill Drive turning to 87 St SW has been installed. The intersection of 87 St NW and Bearspaw Dam Road NW has been approved for the development of a concept design for a traffic circle. Timing update TBD.
Repair to Community Fencing around Twelve Mile Coulee School along Tuscany Blvd NW
The Tuscany Club/Tuscany Residents Association has been advocating for repair to this fence for a number of years. The TCA was asked to assist this year and have also requested repair. The repair remains on the City of Calgary Lifecycle list to be reviewed again in 2025.
Status: Pending
Mobility Improvements for 12 Mile Coulee Rd
Local residents have noted concerns regarding increased traffic, intersection safety and pedestrian safety along 12 Mile Coulee Rd NW. The TCA submitted a request for review of the 12 Mile Coulee Rd/Tuscany Way NW intersection. Potential projects impacting this area include the Damkar Development on the west side of 12 Mile Coulee Rd, the North Calgary Water Servicing Project as well as ongoing development west and south of Tuscany.
Some initial work has been completed to install a traffic signal at Tusslewood Drive and Twelve Mile Coulee Rd prior to this request. The TCA, along with local residents, continue to advocate for traffic controls at Tuscany Way and Twelve Mile Coulee Rd as well as work to improve pedestrian safety and crosswalk road markings.
Status: Pending Response
High School Express Buses and Tuscany Transit Servicing
In 2024 the student express buses for Bowness High School students were reduced from 5 to 3 with the SW portion to be served by standard bus route 26 with no express bus in that area of Tuscany. The TCA contacted the City of Calgary Transit, CBE Transportation, the Ward 1 Councilor and the School Trustee and escalated requests for response but the reduced service level remains.
In December 2025, numerous changes were made to Calgary Transit in Tuscany including changes to the 174, discontinuation of route 74 and changes to Route 26.
In 2026 the student express buses for St Francis were reduced when route 810 was discontinued.
Additional Feedback: For residents with concerns regarding high school bus services or the general recent bus service reductions in Tuscany please contact Calgary Transit and your local schools and school boards directly.
