What Do You Think? – Tuscany Traffic 13

Traffic safety in Tuscany – or lack thereof – seems to be a recurring and underlying theme in our community. Last week, we had three reported incidents (2 anecdotally and 1 to police and political officials) of pedestrians who were inside crosswalks in our school zones and had cars go through the crosswalks without slowing down or showing any sign that they noticed the pedestrians in the middle of crossing.

Attempted Mugging Behind Sobeys

A resident of Tuscany has let us know that at 5:30pm on February 16 in the alley behind Sobeys, a young boy of about 13 or 14 years old attempted mugging her. He demanded her purse and, when denied, he said he had a gun. The resident decided to continue to walk away and the boy left the alley. Although the resident decided not to report this to the police, we would like other residents to be aware of this incident and to take care to be aware of your surroundings. If you encounter a situation like this, be sure to phone the police immediately so they can respond right away.
