The Tuscany Community Association is holding their Annual General Meeting on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 7:30pm at the Tuscany Club. You are invited to attend and learn about our past year and what’s upcoming, as well as participate in the election of the Board of Directors. We represent the community in civic matters (infrastructure, schools, LRT), as well as coordinate TCA Soccer, Adult Softball, Tuscany Race, Tuscany Book Swap, Tuscany Community Garden and Tuscany Community Art Gallery. We welcome new ideas and look forward to your input. We also extend a special invitation to any community members that wish to join the board as a director, as we have a number of vacancies in the upcoming year. Old Photos and Best Friends We’d like to send out congratulations to our local photographer and Sun contributor, Erin Baer, on the birth of a health baby boy named Henry. You can read all about Henry on page 37, as well as see a few beautiful pictures of this little boy. In Erin’s article, she mentions that she’s been loving receiving old family photos from her uncle who has been digitizing their original family photos.

Talk in Tuscany – February

My son lost his I Pod on the 17th of December while waiting for the bus on Tuscany Way. He called us and asked for help to find it and to backtrack his route in hopes it was laying in the snow. My husband walked the route to the bus stop, but couldn’t locate it. The sidewalk had just been shovelled so my husband talked with the owner of the house to see if he’d seen it. I indicated no, and he handed us a bag containing a brand new Ipod Nano. He simply said Merry Christmas and walked away. Bless him for his kindness and his generosity. There are truly […]

Survey – Who Has The Best Neighbourhood in Calgary?

Avenue magazine is conducting a survey to find Calgary’s Best Neighbourhood, and they would like to enlist your help to ensure there is as much public participation as possible.  We want to know what makes your community great, and what makes a great community in general.  Participants in the survey are also rewarded with a chance to win a trip for two on WestJet airlines anywhere they fly. We want to make sure that the members of your community are aware of the opportunity to sing the praises of your neighbourhood.  Click this link if you would like to look at last year’s results to get a better idea of how the survey results are presented.  The survey ends February 28, and the results will be published in our August 2011 issue.
