Free Internet Safety Seminar at St. Basil School on November 4th

St Basil School would like to  invite parents in Tuscany to attend a free seminar at the school on November 4th at 6:30pm. The seminar summary: “Incidences of Internet luring are on the rise and desensitization and cyber bullying are real world problems initiated in the virtual world. The Internet posts millions of adult pages in the competitive pornography industry, and children are publicly posting private information about themselves, their friends and their family. Education will help protect us and our children. This presentation provides ideas to help adults face challenges and reduce risks to their children while using the Internet.”

Talk in Tuscany – Real Issues 2

I am beginning to cringe when I see “The Tuscany Sun” in my mailbox. Which is really too bad ..as when you get past people getting not one now, but two whole pages to argue with one another…it is a really good little publication – full of lots of interesting articles and advertisements. But, it’s the arguing that is getting to me ..and I’m not alone.

November Tuscany Sun Editor’s Note

November 11th – Remembrance Day – is a day we take out of our year to focus for a moment on the people that have served and are currently serving our country during both times of war and times of peace. For many of my friends and family, it has also become a day of focusing on the good things that are in our lives, realigning our thinking with what’s important and what is not and for taking a moment to be truly proud and thankful that we are living in Canada.

CNRCS – Mayoral Candidate Review

To: Community Leaders, Volunteers and Residents to Whom Recreation Matters The Calgary NW Recreation Centre Society (CRNCS) has conducted a review of the top contenders vying to become Calgary’s next mayor to assess their views and policies toward recreation. Our primary concern is to ensure a new regional recreation center is constructed in NW Calgary. However, throughout this process – we learned about broader recreation policies being proposed by candidates. These policies stand to benefit all Calgarians. Please see CNRCS – Mayoral Candidate Review Final1 for our review. This document can also be downloaded from our web site. There is a link to it from the home page. I encourage you to forward this to as many of your friends and family as possible to inform their vote. Thank you! Sandor Kiss Chair, Calgary Northwest Recreation Centre Society

September Editorial 5

In July, we had a concerned resident write in about children playing on our side streets by park areas. She expressed concern for chidren’s safety and felt that the appropriate place for play is in residential yards or playgrounds, not on the roads. This month, one of our residents has written in with another perspective – some activities such as rollerblading, cycling, etc are best played on an asphalt surface which means some play will be on our residential roads.

Chase Participants – Don’t Forget to Check Out After Registering! 1

Okay, I won’t get into how databases work (or don’t) and just address what we’ve got. 🙂 We just wanted to let you know that the most common error users make when using the TCA Membership site is to not complete their registration by clicking on the “Check Out” button. If you have pressed the “Check Out” button and followed the remaining steps as listed on the site, you will receive an email confirmation of your registration within a few hours. If you have registered and you’ve not received an email confirmation, log in to the Membership page and press the “Check Out” button, follow the remaining steps and everything will go as it should. The final page you see should indicate that the registration is complete and that an email with payment details will be sent to you. Thanks! ~TCA Team
