Is Calgary a Neighbourly City? Have a Say!

It is time for you to have your say.  Sponsored by the Federation of Calgary Communities, the 2011 Calgary Neighbourhood Survey is now available at www.calgarycommunities.com.  It is a short survey that you can fill out online that will help all of the not-for-profit organizations that support communities in Calgary. This year there are ten $200 gift certificates that you will be entered into a draw for, just for taking five minutes to fill out the survey.  Plus you will help to make Calgary a place that everyone is proud to call home. If you think that Calgary is a neighbourly place, or if you feel your community can be improved, check out the survey here.  Everyone’s opinion is important!

What Do You Think? March 2011

Old Photos and Best Friends We’d like to send out congratulations to our local photographer and Sun contributor, Erin Baer, on the birth of a health baby boy named Henry. You can read all about Henry on page 37, as well as see a few beautiful pictures of this little boy. In Erin’s article, she mentions that she’s been loving receiving old family photos from her uncle who has been digitizing their original family photos.

Talk in Tuscany – February

My husband walked the route to the bus stop, but couldn’t locate it. The sidewalk had just been shovelled so my husband talked with the owner of the house to see if he’d seen it. To our disappointment, the owner of the home indicated no but would keep an eye out for it. My husband pointed out our house to him so he could return it if he did find it. A few hours later, the gentleman showed up to our house and asked if we had found the Ipod. I indicated no, and he handed us a bag containing a brand new Ipod Nano. He simply said Merry Christmas and walked away. Bless him for his kindness and his generosity. There are truly […]

Survey – Who Has The Best Neighbourhood in Calgary?

Avenue magazine is conducting a survey to find Calgary’s Best Neighbourhood, and they would like to enlist your help to ensure there is as much public participation as possible.  We want to know what makes your community great, and what makes a great community in general.  Participants in the survey are also rewarded with a chance to win a trip for two on WestJet airlines anywhere they fly. We want to make sure that the members of your community are aware of the opportunity to sing the praises of your neighbourhood.  Click this link if you would like to look at last year’s results to get a better idea of how the survey results are presented.  The survey ends February 28, and the results will be published in our August 2011 issue.
