Talk in Tuscany – February

My son lost his I Pod on the 17th of December while waiting for the bus on Tuscany Way. He called us and asked for help to find it and to backtrack his route in hopes it was laying in the snow. My husband walked the route to the bus stop, but couldn’t locate it. The sidewalk had just been shovelled so my husband talked with the owner of the house to see if he’d seen it. Survey – Who Has The Best Neighbourhood in Calgary?

Avenue magazine is conducting a survey to find Calgary’s Best Neighbourhood, and they would like to enlist your help to ensure there is as much public participation as possible.  We want to know what makes your community great, and what makes a great community in general.  Participants in the survey are also rewarded with a chance to win a trip for two on WestJet airlines anywhere they fly. We want to make sure that the members of your community are aware of the opportunity to sing the praises of your neighbourhood.  Click this link if you would like to look at last year’s results to get a better idea of how the survey results are presented.  The survey ends February 28, and the results will be published in our August 2011 issue.

January Editor’s Note

2011. For some reason, this year date seems crazy to me! It seems that just last year I was getting all dolled up (pre-children and feeling pretty snazzy) to head out to the New Year’s Eve party of 2000 and hoping that my belief that the world was not going to come crashing down would turn out to be correct. Of course, the way my brain works is to store information but not with a date and time for reference. Hence, the game of charades I often play with my husband when I am trying to recall an event that would helpfully illustrate a point I feel is essential to make.
